This post was going to be called Me and my little blue book but it wasn’t.
It is however called Thoughts on wireframes and that is exactly what I am going to write about.
wireframes – a visual map of a webpage or a user interface that outlines layout and function of elements that helps define how pages appear and behave.

I can’t start a new website or web page without a wireframe, I believe it’s one of the best forms of planning you can do, it’s cheap, it’s quick (if you know what you want) and it’s your road map to a HOT layout.
Things you need to create a wireframe:
- a piece of paper
- a pencil
I personally use an A5 192 page Manuscript book, quad ruled with a margin and a pencil.
It’s important to find what works for you and the only way to get better is to practise and practise and practise and then one day you will become a master information architect.
A wireframe is supposed to be a basic idea on what you want the page to look like, there is no need for detail or perfection, it’s all about getting the idea’s from your head to your hand and onto your page.

What are your thoughts on wireframes? What do you use?
