The points I love.

  • Most products suck because the design is bad because it can’t be good, it’s not allowed to be good and it wasn’t part of the process from the beginning.
  • Be happy with what you are building, don’t let the sales people dictate what gets created and shipped as the final product.
  • You need to have a vision for your product.
  • What sort of company are you going to be? Mediocore and just add stuff you really don’t need.
  • What do you need to say no to?
  • Cashflow will follow the integrity

Get everyone envolved

Mar 04 2010 Published by Tyron Bache under Business, Inspiration, Web Development

Just been inspired by something awesome the Obox bro’s did – if you haven’t seen there latest post, go check it out!

Entitled “Name the awesome. Win.” it’s already a winner of a post just because is has the word awesome in the title! But also because they have reached out to me, to you and anyone out there who can comment to get envolved and be apart of this awesomeness.

What can you win? How about a life time supply of themes, to most people that would be great but to some I think they are just after the bragging rights to say that they named an Obox theme. This is the best online competetion I have seen in a while and it’s happening right now, the deadline is the 15th of March so go comment and have your say!

There are lots of desperate entries (spam lists and lists) being posted, but I suggest go look at the preview of the theme here and think of the first thing that comes to mind. For me it was Henry.

So keen to see who wins :) well done Obox this is a brilliant example of free online marketing for an up and coming product – fun, viral and worth sharing!

How to create something worth sharing

Mar 02 2010 Published by Tyron Bache under Social Media, Web Development

Some points to think about before you create some new content:

  • Remarkable: firstly don’t even think about sharing anything that isn’t remarkable, these days people get bored to easily so your content needs to be something worth making a remark about.
  • Specific: secondly it needs to be specific and focused on a main point, if not your audience might get confused as to what exactly they are sharing and therefore won’t do it.
  • Brief: thirdly we live in a 5 minute world, if something takes more than 5 minutes then you have lost your audience other than a really good movie of course.
  • Community: fourthly how can you expect anything to be shared if there is no one to share it with, it’s as simple as that, as Seth Godin says you need a tribe and there is one waiting for you to lead them, if you can’t find them you aren’t looking hard enough.
  • Tools: fifthly give your auidence the tools to be able to share your content, this should go with out saying but this is where you can rely on twitter and facebook.

Below is the first blog post of one of my favourite bands, The Ranks, watch it and tell me why do you think I am sharing it with you? (P.S. it’s only 54 seconds long.)

The first blog post

Feb 19 2010 Published by Tyron Bache under Web Development

WordPress, is there anything better when it comes to simplicity and ease of use? I don’t think so or atleast I haven’t found it yet.

Have you ever thought how important the first post on a blog is? I have, I believe it’s like a first impression. after you have finished reading this post go and find your favourite blog and go discover their first post. There is a link at the bottom of this post to mine :)

My blog theme is gunungkidul – I chose it because of the minimalist style and it was free.

Well this is my first post on my brand new, clean blog. Exciting stuff! I will be posting regarding the topics that interest me the most and hopefully it will be useful to you. I am really looking forward to getting to know you and your story.

There is still much to add to this blog besides thousands of posts but I just had to start it, if you aren’t blogging then I strongly encourage you to start – contact me if you would like some help setting one up, I’m more than happy to help.

If you would like to learn more about me please go here.
Right so where to from here? Well for now you can go follow me on twitter, see you there.

My fav first post: From the Couch – Episode 0.1
