Versus The Wolf

Jun 29 2010 Published by Tyron Bache under Music, Video

Wow, I haven’t posted anything in weeks, I have been working and playing hard but anyway one of my biggest passions is music, I love finding decent new music. Myspace has been a lovely testing ground for this. I can sit and stream music for hours while I work. Another thing I really enjoy is supporting local music, South African music. Versus The Wolf are one of South Africa’s best live bands – in my opinion – they have been going strong since 2005 under a different name though however they have now re-invented themselves and are about to launch an album called “Uncovering Faces” this Winter. Go check out their myspace below and give them a listen.

Below are there first two vlog’s that they did and I think they are pretty rad.

Here is a link to their myspace.
Disclaimer: I helped them with their myspace layout.

“You don’t need to outdo the competition. It’s expensive and defensive. Underdo your competition. We need more simplicity and clarity.”

A view into the Forrst

Jun 09 2010 Published by Tyron Bache under Social Media, Web Development

Right so how many of you have heard about Kyle Bragger‘s Forrst? Raise your hands please…

Okay, a few of you have, thanks you can lower you hands now.

Forrst is a place for designers and developers to share screenshots, links, code, and questions with their peers. I do however love the way that Carsonified have described it: Where Designers Who Code meet Developers Who Design.

Forrst is still in beta and is invite-only which when I first stumbled upon it made me a little curious, I applied and got accepted today, stoked, I think I am #2,483. If you have an account you can view my profile here.

My first impressions, I must say I am a little bias because I did get accepted… anyway I love the home page, it has been beautifully done and the moving clouds in the background are a lovely touch. When I first heard about it I thought it was just a Dribbble copy but I am still waiting for my Dribbble invite so that I can’t make an informed judgement on that… yet and I am not sure who cam first. Once logged in the UI is awesome, good to look at and pretty easy to use, they have made sharing effortless. One thing I can say is that Forrst accepts developers and not just designers which I am happy about being a developer. There is tons of content flying around in the forrst and I am keen to get stuck in and find some real gems which obviously I will share with you guys.

If your bottled water taste like…

Jun 08 2010 Published by Tyron Bache under Business, Quotes

“If your bottled water taste like ass, it’s not going to win. If your water lights up the world and nobody knows about it, and you don’t know how to tell that story, you’re not gonna win either.”

Gary Vaynerchuk – SxSWi 2009

You need the right product and the right message, and may I humbly add, at the right time to win.

Finally it has always been a dream of mine to start my own business and on Tuesday I did that, wow it feels awesome! What dreams do you really want to achieve? What is stopping you from achieving them? How badly do you want it?
